I presume U2 have booked more than the one date Wembley. Will Elbow be supporting at any subsequent dates too?

I think it's just the one Wembley show.

I know that they have also booked the Stadium for Saturday 15th.

Looking at the tour schedule, there are no other shows 'officially' booked between 14th and 20th August, so I'm guessing the 15th and 16th are potentially free for U2 at Wembley too (nothing booked officially on Wembley website for those days). With the cost involved in setting up that stage, they'd be stupid not to fill the stadium for 3 days...and I'd guess Elbow would be there each night. I do want to see them, but I worry that the U2 crowd might not be too receptive to much of Elbow's 'quieter' work, which may not suit such a huge stadium, and us Elbow fans could get mightily annoyed surrounded by chattering U2 fans....

Saying that, I'm going to V Festival the following weekend, and I suppose the same could be said of Oasis fans, but I'm a bit more hopeful about the fans there being there to support Elbow too.

On a different note, I did love the review of the Wembley Arena show in The Times....and especially the girl (Jo) who commented on the review, complaining about Guy being called 'portly' and 'looking like a builder', along the lines of 'Don't pick on my lovely Guy!!' :-)

The band have 100% booked the stadium for the 15th. I understand that there will only be the two days at Wembley. I presume Elbow will be supporting at both days, but I don't know for sure. It would be good to know before tickets go on sale tomorrow. Where's Craig when you need him?!

Got Sheffield tickets today! Taking my big brother for his birthday. It's 22 years since he took me to see them at Wembley on the Joshua Tree Tour - my first ever gig! So it's about time I returned the favour!!

Ah that's so great! Joshua Tree was my first tour too. Met one of my best friends in line getting tickets and we ended up going to the show together.

22 years?!? Has it been THAT long? Eeeek! Shocked

Bloody hell, it's 22 years since I last saw U2, on the Joshua Tree tour at Leeds and Edinburgh. How time flies! Shocked

I got the tickets booked for Wembley today, should be a bit better than my previous five visits -

As a long suffering Newcastle supporter, this is my Wembley history:

Wins 0, Draws 0, Lost 5, for 1, against 11.

Mad Crying or Very sad

Are the Bos suporting U2 at the 2nd Wembley gig? Normally wouldn't they have announced it on their site?

Anyone going?

I wonder if they will have special Elbow/U2 shirts/ stuff for sale at the shows? I don't normally partake, but might get one at the Sheffield show.

xx

I don't think anyone really knows at the moment. The lack of announcement from Elbow suggests not.
