I got a wee shock this past weekend when I was suffering through the new Disney flick G-Force with my daughter...Loudon Wainwright was in it! Just a small role and he didn't get a ton of screen time, but still...very jarring to see someone as talented as him in a piss-poor film featuring CGI guinea pig secret agents. A definite "WTF" moment for me!

This is a big rock beast - perhaps even an old fashioned rock dinosaur, but quite agile at times and occasionally surprising.

I'm actually enjoying it - it sounds just like you imagine it would - intelligent-but-dumb driving grungy hard rock with a slight proggy twist, consummately performed, but ...

Something a bit different to the games in the 'Neighbourhood, challenge your fellow boardies on their music knowledge with a bit of pop quizzing. Identify the artist from a line of lyrics, test them on trivia or if you really want to be flash, set up an intro audio clip for us to guess. It's all up to you! Whoever answers correctly asks the next question.

Starting you off with an easy one, which song do these lyrics come from?

I'm really sorry to do this to you, but I just went in the kitchen and there was a huge spider on the wall. I didn't scream, but I would've done if it had moved. Fortunately, Mr P was there to put it out for me and if he hadn't I'd have had to wake one of the kids up to get it. I am not scared of little spiders, but those big horrible house spiders, that scurry along when you're not expecting it - they really put the willies up me! I don't go out to the movies as much as I want to; I have a 7-year-old, so my time at the pictures is almost always some animated crap. Last good film I saw in an actual theatre was Sweeney Todd, which was most righteous. And on DVD, I just watched a couple of good music documentaries. ...

I still get goosebumps listening to this song, maybe its the proggie keyboards.

Noisebox original version is my favourite... for the metallic scraping in the longer intro, ...

It's a process that Beatles fans have been doing for years. Take a stereo track, invert one of the channels, and output in mono. The center drops out, and what remains is usually instrumental, and it's usually a mystery. You usually lose the vocal, either entirely or it gets really buried.

I OOPSed the entirety of The Seldom Seen Kid, just for kicks.

Elbow is an interesting band to OOPS, because they already have an interesting sonic ...

I haven't seen this posted, so I thought I might as well. So what was the last album you bought or were given?

The last album I bought was Elbow at Abbey Road (damn manufactures pushing it back a whole week!)

The last album I was given, was Lady's Bridge by the lovely Richard Hawley, which was a nice surprise from my Dad. Funny, I got him into Richard and then he buys the albums before me
