My long-awaited copy of The Hazards of Love arrived today - amazing, what a wonderful album! I'd had a sneak preview of a couple of tracks, but the whole thing in its entirety has just swept me away. Their best yet, I think. Anyone else loving it?

Just got the album by this lot. They are QotSA's Josh Homme, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl on drums, and Led Zep's John Paul Jones on bass/keyboards. This is a big rock beast - perhaps even an old fashioned rock dinosaur, but quite agile at times and occasionally surprising. OK chaps - what are your views on prog rock? I'm really getting into The Decemberists and I think that we will soon be seeing the return of prog rock - obviously with a more modern sound. I don't mind admitting, I bought a copy of Rick Wakeman's Six Wives of Henry the Eighth (actually that was crap!). I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this.

Hey all,

I want to spice up my music collection and I was wondering whether any of you could suggest any music (new and old.) I discover a lot of music on the radio, especially whilst listening to the Finest Hour which I can't thank Guy enough for, but I thought this might be quicker. So if you like you can suggest an song, album or band/artist, it's kinda like a song for Guy. I hope this thread won't just give me new music to listen to, but to everyone else.

I do this all the time...the radio plays a tune I've not thought to listen to in a long time, and I remember how much it kicks ass. Usually it's by a band or artist who I don't listen to very often - not a guilty pleasure, just a song that went completely off my radar and then showed up out of the blue to pleasantly surprise me. This morning, it was Atomic, by Blondie. Effing fabulous groove on that song! Heard it in the car, then when I got home I dug it out and played it about 5 times ...

The last album I bought was Elbow at Abbey Road (damn manufactures pushing it back a whole week!) The last album I was given, was Lady's Bridge by the lovely Richard Hawley, which was a nice surprise from my Dad. Funny, I got him into Richard and then he buys the albums before me Sarah xxxxxxxx

Only starting to catch up with DCFC a bit now, after a workmate with similar taste had kept going on for ages about how good they are. Consequently "I will follow you into the Dark" from 'Plans' is a bit of an earworm lately. It's a lovely song to play on an acoustic too.

Love the lyrics. E (Mark Everett) has a great way with words and he can be pretty inventive especially around the time of Beautiful Freak and Daisies of the Galaxy.

Great music too; dark and beautiful, the way Elbow can be.

Robert Plant said to Jimmy (so they say): "Kick David's ass". I think he did.
