Wondering if there are many Libertines fans roaming this forum ? Personally, I was a big fan having seen them twice, once with Pete and once without.

Their debut LP was brilliant, totally ramshackle yet it was catchy and made me totally fall in love with them. The follow up sparkled in places yet it didn't quite live up to Up The Bracket, I think the album cover said it all, really.

I've always been a huge Carl Barat fan, he just seemed so much more appreciative of the fans and general success, and despite putting up with so much rubbish, including Pete robbing his flat, his loyalty as a friend towards him, was truly heartwarming. However, my feelings towards Pete have long slid, despite my total admiration for him as a lyricist and 'poet'. No shows at gigs and general disdain for the law have left me very cold. Oh, and Gary's drumming, brilliantly holds the live shows together.

The thought of hearing 'Can't stand me now', 'Time for Heroes' and 'Don't look back into the sun' on some sort of reunion tour is an incendiary thought........

Love them. Up The Bracket is an absolute work of art. A snapshot of an era in England (or London at least) circa 2002(?). The Libertines is a great follow up album. I'd love for them to get back together and make music anywhere near that good again. DPT and Babyshambles never had anything like the same magic. Peter's solo album is pretty good to be fair.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Pete a couple of times and he's been a pleasure each time. Definitely not the monster portrayed in the press, although he has certainly helped add to that image in the past.

I'll never forget the first time I saw them at Reading. One of the most ramshackle sets I've ever seen, it pretty much summed up the rest of their careers in the band: it was amazing!

I love the band Pete is great writer a very talented bloke but has sadly become a total fuck up, the Libertines produced lovely ramshackle English music that took in a lot of influences but produced something fresh and exciting, gear not a clever idea ditto the pipe, really hope he can shake it off, Carl Barat come accross as a decent bloke and I agree Gary is a bloody tight drummer.
I have Petes solo stuff Shotters Nation and alot of the free Bumfest stuff around that made up the bulk of the album.Down in albion is a stunning song
