| I have had a couple of requests to explain how to use certain features while posting, and i'm guessing that there are more of you out there who can't figure out certain aspects, but aren't too keen to ask for help. So, here is a few tutorials. Adding internet pictures to posts:- Find out the URL of the picture by right clicking and choosing "View Image" then copy and pasting the address.
- Click the Insert Image icon in your post (looks like a little polaroid of a tree)
- Paste the URL into the text box and click ok.
- Your URL should appear in your post with the tags on either end.
Adding a Youtube video- Find the box entitled "Embed" on the video's page. (Should be located under the description)
- Click on the "Video" icon in your post. (looks like a green film negative)
- Paste the embed code into the text box and click ok.
- That should insert a video into your post.
Adding a well formed Link- Copy the address that you want to link to.
- Click the "Link" button in your post. (looks like a small grey chain link)
- Paste your link into the text box and click ok.
- You should now have something that looks like this:
| Code: | http://example.com |
- Now delete the second "http://example.com" and replace it with a suitable name that you want to be viewed, i.e. "example"
- Now place a link colour into the link by adding "[color:ba63="colour of choice"]" to the front of "example" and "" to the end of "example"
- Your link should now look like this:
| Code: | example |
- Hopefully that will create a nice looking link in your post. example
Adding fun text- To change the colour of text add:
| Code: | to the front of the text and to the end. |
- To change the size add:
| Code: | to the front of the text and to the end. |
- To change the font add:
| Code: | to the front of the text and to the end. |
Phew, i'm tired now. More tutorials later (maybe). _________________ Fear my epic posts! Moderator

On a related aside and something I've been meaning to ask for a while, is there no way for links to automatically change the look of the text? Italics or a slightly different shade of colour or something? Trevor?_________________ |

I don't think so. It's not really that hard to do it yourself though is it? _________________ Fear my epic posts! Moderator

| OK I have done this, but it does affect all the other links as you no doubt will have seen. I'll wait and see if popular opinion prefers the old way. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once.." Albert Einstein Administrator

| No wait. It works for that link. (ironically) But now every link is like it, as you say, which looks out of place. Nah, stick to the white and let everyone sort out their own links IMO _________________ Fear my epic posts! Moderator

| Posting your own photos up via the forum (rather than via a hosting site or other web image) 1. You need to upload the pic from your 'My Docs' folder (or wherever you photo is stored): When you start your reply post, click on the 'Host an image' icon which has photo + little computer on it. Using the first option, it'll ask you to browse & select your local file, then hit the 'host it' button. 2. Once it's uploaded, you're offered a choice of thumbnail, image or image URL info for your pic. On the image URL line, hit 'copy' - then click the 'host an image' icon again to get rid of the upload dialogue box. 3. Next, Click the 'Image' icon (next one along the icons bar) , then right click your mouse button to paste the image URL you just uploaded. Hit OK. It's then inserted automatically into your post and you're good to go! _________________ You patched me up and sent me on my way Moderator

| Don't think that's possible. You'd have to use rapidshare or something I think. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once.." Albert Einstein Administrator

| I can't seem to do the color option for the links. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but it's driving me crazy. |
